The founder and owner Mikkel Villum Jensen graduated in 1991 as an Industrial Designer and has had his own workshop and office since then.
MIKKEL VILLUM began in 1998, and was originally called Mikkels Vaerksted. I was contacted by Dr. Mads Peter Heide-Jørgensen from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, who wanted to satellitetrack minke whales in West Greenland.
This initial collaboration led to many fruitful years of development of tracking technology for marine mammals all over the world.
Tag design, function, and equipment have evolved over the years, and MIKKEL VILLUM has developed and produced a broad spectrum of equipment for marine mammal projects throughout the world.
